Biblical Authority We live and act within a world whose deeper aspects are hidden from our physical senses. Using the Bible to help us elevate ourselves to greater faith and spiritual understanding is the purpose of our studies. However, what is first required is that you begin to listen to the "still small voice" that came to Elijah (1 Kings 19: 11-13) This inner experience of the Divine now can become the New Covenant prophesied in Jeremiah 31: 31-33: "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD...I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts..." Christ is our model for this. Understanding and meditating on The Lord's Prayer will bring us the "Spirit of truth" to make the New Covenant a reality for us and the world. "I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth." (John 16:12-13) Using the insight that today we all have the potential of awakening this "Spirit of truth", we can begin to read the Bible in a much deeper, more intelligent and spiritual way. Thereby we can unveil more and more of the mysteries in the Bible and its many seeming contradictions. You will find the answers to such questions as: Who was John the Baptist? What was his relationship to Elijah? (Matthew 17:9-13) |
